About Lauren

Throughout my journey working with diverse communities and individuals, I firmly believe that viewing physical and psychological symptoms as problems that need to be fixed or diagnosed is counterintuitive. Instead, I see the whole person and use the behaviours as guideposts to the real areas that need attention and healing.

Through the creative process, I bring my client’s attention to things that arise during the session and work with them to gently explore these at their own pace.

Acknowledging that life shapes and influences us all differently, I ensure each session is tailored specifically to my client's needs. No matter who I work with, my aim is to create a compassionate and supportive space where my clients feel empowered to explore and express themselves through the medium of art.

I use several different approaches and therapeutic interventions such as:

  • Person-centered

  • Trauma-informed

  • Mindfulness-Based Art Therapy (MBAT)

  • Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)

  • Strengths-based

  • Compassion-focused

  • Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT)

  • Narrative Art Therapy

Based in Thornbury, Victoria. Offering outreach and clinic sessions.
